"Nice hostel with a lot of heart"

We stayed at the Meson Pousada for the football world cup in june 2014. The experience was great, despite the shabby appearance of the hostel. Lucia, the owner, may seem disinterested and unfriendly at first but she is a very nice and kind person. On the evening of our arrival we didn't find a place to eat because we were late and almost all restaurants were full, so Lucia asked one of her helpers (maybe Jefferson) to make us a traditional Bahia dish, which was excellent! Jefferson also made mean caipirinhas, the best (and probably cheapest!) in town! There was also this other guy hanging around all the time, he seemed like an informal security guy, and he was so much fun. He also made us some steaks at the last night there.

I would recommend a stay at the Pousada to everyone who looks for a lively and local stay. The crew is very nice and friendly and this outweighs all the negatives - the house is old and in need of some repair works, plus it's also a bit dirty, but hey, who cares if you have fun, right! And some brandy to disinfect your bowels! :))))

Jokes aside, it is a very pleasant hostel with a lot of heart, so go there and be nice... and probably you will get the same treatment from Lucia and her boys.

Localização excelente e trato agradável e atento por parte da proprietária, Lúcia. Porém, não esperem luxo nem muito conforto: os quartos estão velhos, os colchoes afundam e o chuveiro quente não funcionava. Mesmo assim, a limpeza era mantida diariamente e o café da manhã foi ótimo. Acho uma boa escolha, mas é uma pena q não façam umas simples melhoras para que seja a melhor pousada do Pelo.
